I'm back! I spent the weekend with my best friend Afrodite (aka Dr Venus Opal Reese) while she changed lives and inspired entrepreneurs to greater heights then they thought possible at her Defy Impossible Live Event. She shows people how to build or strengthen their business, heal their hearts, and make money doing it. She's a badass, y'all. She's out to transform the world and she's starting with black female entrepreneurs. Which is pretty fucking awesome.
I'm inspired 'cause it's always nice to spend time with kith and kin, especially when they are up to big things. All of which is to the good -- while I was away Toddler Flails-a-lot's immune system gave up the ghost. My little baby relapsed right before I got home. She keeps telling me, "I sick, Mama. I cough." You have no idea how adorable it is. She still coughs right in our faces, but 30% of the time she coughs into her sleeve! Mama's little microbe is learning to keep germs to herself. I'm quite proud.
Also, I've found this vintage cookbook illustration on Flickr that looks just like Toddler Flails-a-lot as 1950's fantasy white child! It makes me exceedingly happy. Replace that little freckled kid with a Pakistani toddler and you have my baby's life. I mean, she'd be wearing a rocket shirt with an attached cape instead of a dress, but whatever. Close enough.
photoset posted by Millie Motts, who is a bonafide vintage illustration image hoarder and I love her for it.
Anyways, my baby is coughing so I have to go, but great to be back!
